AARP North Carolina excels as a dynamic presence in communities all across North Carolina, where there are nearly 1.1 million AARP members. We?re proud to be a resource for members who want to make a difference in their communities. In fact, volunteers are the heart of AARP, since it?s because of them that our programs are successful. In North Carolina, AARP volunteers provide free tax return help to thousands and teach older drivers how to keep their skills sharp as they age. They provide help and support to family caregivers, speak to business leaders on older workforce issues, encourage healthy physical activity and offer their communities information and education on consumer fraud. Our advocacy volunteers speak out on behalf of North Carolina?s most frail and vulnerable citizens at the General Assembly and stay in close contact in legislators? home districts. And in our state and across the country, AARP is mobilizing grassroots support for reforms in health care and financial security through its Divided We Fail campaign
