My Journals (6)

Yes its me again, and yes I am complaining again. I have played the games that have been offered by AARP in the Games area. My question is this when I do the Majong I know misspell, it is on a time limit. Now I understand that these games are good hand and eye coordination, and thats good, but why put a strict time limit on it. I play a lot of Majongs games, in other area which is called Pogo, and they do not time limits on these games. Now they will reward you if you finish the game in record time, which I have no idea what that is, since the only one I get any bonus is with the Garden Majong. So why can't AARP do this. I would like to play more of these type of games as these are the ones I really enjoy, but it gets rather frustrating here in AARP when you can't go very far in the levels. Now I know there are ones out there that can whiz thru these games, and for them I congrats them, but why just cater to them. How many out there play these games Majong that have the complaint about the time limits, or am I the only flapping her gums, or in this case her fingers. Well I been frustrated enough today, I will return to my other favorite place, where there are no time limits on the games I play. Have a nice day.

I asked this question at this time, because of what is going on with my youngest son. Three years ago him and his wife bought this beautiful home, in Saginaw Tx. It was their dream home, and my son thought he would retire in this home. Well, guess what, it is not going to happen. Some events in his life have changed. His wife moved out, and I moved in, and have been living with him for almost 3 years. Now other event is going to happen in his life, and that is he has to give up his home. He can no longer live in it, because he can't refinace, for reason I will not give at this time. The worse thing is that selling this home at this time is not in his favor, why, because of the economy of this country. He will loose money, and so will his wife, yes she still his wife, and it will ruin both their credits, all because some people in this country got greedy, and because of that, we little people have to suffer for their erroronous mistakes. When will some of the people wake up and realize that the rich take care of themselves, and the middle class, and poor are push to the wayside. I also get a chuckle at our politicans who say they will help. Thats a crock of you know what. It makes me laugh at some of the politicans in Washington, because they spend more time arguing amongst themselves, that they don't have time to take care of us little people, except at election time, when they make all those promises, just so they can get elected, and when they do it comes to the old saying"I'm all right Jack". I know that someday all the promises that they made will come back and bite them on their ****, and I hope I am around when it happens. Well I have spouted enough and feel a little better. Like my son says "If you  can't fix it,  you let it go, and start over, and hopefully do better the next time, and learn from your mistakes". I just wish I could do the same thing. He will take the loss, and we will be moving.

Some of you are probably saying, "So What". Well without getting on my soap box, which I have a tendency to do, I will give a small reason for my title. I have been retired for almost 4 years, and have called myself a senior citizen, and was told I could not. Well it seems now that I am 65 I can. Now who made up that rule anyways. It is also the year I join Medicare, and well my opinions on that have already been voiced in previous journals. According to my doctors I am lucky to reach this age, as I have come close to leaving this world, but since I am a ornary character, I am still here. In Canada where I am from 65 means I get the Canadian Pension check, which is like the Social Security check in the states, it also means I get the Old Age check, I don't know of anything in the States that matches it. I would be getting these, but I have to prove I actually have been living in the States since 1979, since that is when I left Canada. My late husband had all that paper work, and I have never found it, so I can't prove that I left Canada and move here. Now some of you may read that last statement and become confuse, so I will try to explain the Canadian government to you. In order for me to get these checks, I have to have lived in Canada for 10 years, starting with the age of 18. I also have to have prove I worked in Canada, now I can prove that part, but the Canadian government can't seem to clasp that I left Canada when I was 34 year old, which makes me living in Canada from age 18 legal to receive these checks. Oh well, I am sure all this will get straighten out, when I get a chance to go back and talk face to face. I also have to have prove of residency which means showing ownership of any houses, which I can do. It all too confusing right now, and I am going to let it lay for awhile. I hope everyone will have a good 2010, and can look back in 2011, and have fond memories.

January of 2010 I will be 65 years old, and will be force to give up my present Health Insurance, of which I will not name, but give a clue. I use to work for the prison system of Texas, in the Medical Field, so if anyone has worked in this system will know who the insurance company is. I also know I am not the only one in this situation. I always thought that this country was base on freedom of choice, but I guess I am wrong, because I am force to take Medicare whether I want it or not. I have talked to several insurer about the Advantage Plans, but most of them really do not want me as a customer. I will tell you that I do have coronary artery disease, which is semi behaving itself at this time. It is scary to know that the cariologist I have been seeing will not be seeing me as of January because he does not take Medicare patients. So I ask myself, what happens if I have a heart attack, and need a specialist, who do I turn too, when this happens. I would like to see one that is close to where I live, and not have to go a long distance as that could be difficult, especially since I do not have someone that can get me there, most of the time. I have to admit that I do not like to drive on interstate, as I would be the driver you would be classify as accident magnet. I also know that for the last 17 years I have not had to make monthly payments to my Health Insurance, and now I do, and I wonder whether or not I can afford it. I like so many are on a fixed income, and like so many now a days are finding it difficult to afford anything extra. I do not know if anyone there is anyone in AARP who can help me, but I am so stressed out that I will gladly listen to anyone who has more knowledgeable information that what I have receive so far. Who ever may read this I thank you, and value any opinions.

Now I don't know who will view this, but I feel like I have to vent. My auto insurance got renewed again and I will not name the  insurance company because I believe they have no control over what I am going to complain about. Each year when my insurance is renew there is additional expense fee attach to my insurance of $140.00. When I asked the unfortunate person on the phone what is this fee, he hestitated, and when I asked if it was some kind of tax he replied sort of. It seems that the state of Texas has the most uninsured drivers in this country. The reason I was given because there are so many illegal in this state. Unfortunely we do have that country below us, where the people come here whether than say in their own country, and in a way I don't blame them. But my beef is this, why should I a person with a exceptional driving record and a senior citizen who is on a fixed income have to pay for the stupidity of others. I even told this unfortuneate man if I found out that my money was going towards any compain, which I did not authorize that it would upset me. Also if any of my money goes toward to Texas Lottery, that whoever won the millions that I believe I am entitled to at least the $140.00 of that million. Also this remains me of all those CEO who got bonuses for being hired to do a job. I wonder where is money going, as no one seems to know. Is there anyone out there in computer land having the same problems as me. I was told that not every state has this fee on their insurance, but it is manatory. Well this person on the phone was getting uncomfortable by my questioning so I thank him for explaining various aspects of my policy. I cannot complain of the grand total of my insurance or the monthly payments, as these are reasonable, but it sure would be nice if the grand total was $140.00 less.

has been to get up this morning and water the plants of my neighbors, as they are not at home at this time, and we are having very, hot weather in the Fort Worth area, Today  Cooper my youngest grandson, played his last baseball, game, and receive a trophy, and is now at the team party. My cat Lancelot is having a great day so far, looking at all the birds, I have around my bird feeders, and we have discover some new ones, that I believe I just passing thru, on their way to whereever they spend their summers. Don't worry, Lancelot is a indoor cat, so the birds are safe. My grandsons, Coleman, and Cooper, have made a request that I tape all the SpongeBobs shows today, as there are going to be new ones, and they are afraid they may miss them. Yesterday was my oldest son Eddie's birthday. I sent him an E-Card, but don't know if he has receive it yet. He is one year away from being Forty, and I did remind him that he is also 11 years away from being Fifty. My boys are sometimes afraid of these milestones in life, I remember when I reach Fifty, I thought I am a Half Century older, which means I can do what ever I want, and people around me will just have to live with it. Now I am 64, and next year I qualify for either Canada Pension or Old Age Security, from Canada, and of course, Medicare, or is it Medicaid, I can never keep it straight. Well I have been on this computer long enough. My main reason for going on here, was to complain about a car company that I rented from, I think they did not give me the AARP discount, and I am trying to find if I was cheated. Well you all have a nice day.
