Thanks to all for the get well wishes and Birthday wishes.
As an update on my back / epidural situation I will say; I am going back for more shots on Tuesday. There was a small amount of improvement which makes the Dr. think that maybe another dose of the steriod mixture they are shooting into my back may help even though other things have worsened so, I'll give it another shot (no pun intended). After the ease of the first go round I'm not as concerned with the procedure. I guess it is true we are more afraid of not knowing that the unknown itself.
I have been working on a couple pieces to post on "It's Story Telling Time" hope to get them on next week sometime. I hope all my friends are well and you all have a great weekend.
I'm not sure if it was the prayers or just that the epidural was easier than I had anticipated, I must say that it went very fast and the only needles I felt was when they put the IV in and the **** of the first local before the big guns were put to use. I barely had time to put my head down after the anesthetic was given before the nurse said OK we're all done. I swear it happened that fast, I was in the office a total of only 45 minutes from the time I walked into the building until they wheeled me out in a chair to my car with a bottle of orange juice and a pack of cookies. It was really odd because when we (my sister drove me) inquired at sign in they said at least 1 1/2 hrs. I mean, WOW. The technician / Dr. doing the procedure must have set some kind of record.
I wanted to go ahead and update this because they tell me I may get to feeling more pain before it lessens, so I guess we will see how that part of it goes. I am hurting a good bit but some things do seem better, so I'll pray some more when I go to bed and leave it to God to do his bidding.
I want to thank those who offered kind words and shared religious beliefs regarding my last post. My weekend has already lightened up and I hope all of yours do the same. Bless you all.
Well, I was trying to install some new memory in my PC today and I don't know what happened but it won't work in my system. I also noticed that my video card was broken and needs replaced. I'm not sure when I will get this done, until then I will not be online much as I am using another persons computer.
Hope you all had a good weekend.
Deb
Well, I know tomorrow is Dad's day but I couldn't wait I went ahead and gave my Dad his gift today. John Wayne movies, he was thrilled, I think they were the only color ones he didn't have already. I had thought about waiting but my sister was home early from work and she will be gone tomarrow so I went ahead and did it so she could be there too. He isn't hard to buy for if you can find an old western on DVD that he hasn't gotten yet, since thats almost all he does is set in his room , (tomb) with the vents all closed up and the curtains drawn with no airflow, watching old movies or series like Bonanza or something like that. But, I guess he has earned the right to do pretty much whatever he wants now. I'm posting a story about him on the group site "It's Story Telling Time" if you want to read it.
Have a great Fathers Day!
Today, I had an appt with my case manager at my lawyers office, which I find out he has fogotten all about. Apparently, he had already scheduled the day off before he made the appointment with me and forgotten that too. I'm not sure which one of us should be the most upset, his family member he took the day off to be with or me after driving 40 miles and wasted gass, to the city for the appt and not getting anything done.
I guess it wasn't a total loss since I had an appt with the pain management dr for later that day to discuss getting an epidural injection to hopefully repair or at least help the numbness in my leg and the pains & spasms in my back and tailbone area. I am still unsure if I want to go through with it since there are no guarantee that it will help and in rare cases makes it worse. The way my luck runs it will be the later. I have a week to decide since a week from tomorrow is when the procedure is scheduled. If anyone knows anything about this procedure please, give me you're opinion.
So, as my life goes along in it's normal order I came home to an air-conditoner that has frozen-up. This happened about 2 weeks ago and my neighbor came over and filled it up with freon and it's been working great until today. I am assuming it must have a major freon leak somewhere to have all leaked out again so soon. Guess, I will find out in the morning when the repair guy comes out. I hope he gives me a break on the cost since he did a maintenance call on it in Sept and he said it didn't have a leak then and should be ready to go this summer. Since we have been in the 90's and up for the last 6 or 7 weeks it has had plenty of time to prove him wrong.
I keep looking up but the sky just don't seem to be clearing.
I really hope everyone elses day was better than mine.
DO I HAVE THIS STRAIGHT? --
HIS FATHER WAS A BLACK AFRICAN MUSLIM FROM KENYA .
WE HAVE SEEN PICTURES OF HIS AFRICAN FAMILY.
HIS MOTHER WAS A WHITE AMERICAN ATHEIST FROM KANSAS .
WHERE ARE THE PICTURES OF HIS AMERICAN FAMILY?
HIS FATHER DESERTED HIS MOTHER WHEN HE WAS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD AND WENT BACK TO AFRICA BY WAY OF HARVARD UNIVERSITY . HOW? WAS HIS FATHER WEALTHY?
HIS MOTHER MARRIED AN INDONESIAN MUSLIM AND THEN MOVED TO JAKARTA WHERE HE WAS ENROLLED IN A MUSLIM SCHOOL .
WHEN HE REACHED HIGH SCHOOL AGE HIS MOTHER SENT HIM TO HAWAII TO BE WITH HIS WHITE GRANDPARENTS AND HE WAS PUT INTO AN EXPENSIVE PRIVATE SCHOOL. HE LATER WENT TO HARVARD UNIVERSITY . HOW? WERE HIS GRANDPARENTS RICH?
HE LIVES IN A $1.4 MILLION HOUSE OBTAINED THROUGH A DEAL WITH A WEALTHY FUNDRAISER. HOW?
HE 'WORKED' AS A CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST IN CHICAGO . HE HAS NEVER HELD A PRODUCTIVE JOB OR RECEIVED A PAY CHECK THAT WAS NOT GOVERNMENT-FUNDED AND/OR TAYPAYER SUPPORTED.
THE PRESIDENCY IS NOT A CIVIL RIGHTS POSITION, NOR IS IT SUBJECT TO AFFIRMATIVE ACTION SET ASIDES; ON-THE-JOB TRAINING WON'T CUT IT.
HE ENTERED POLITICS AT THE STATE LEVEL AND THEN THE NATIONAL LEVEL WHERE HE HAS MINIMAL EXPERIENCE.
HE IS PROUD OF HIS 'AFRICAN HERITAGE' (A FATHER WHO GOT A WHITE GIRL PREGNANT AND DESERTED HER).
WHERE IS THE PRIDE IN HIS 'WHITE HERITAGE'? (A MOTHER WHO FLAUNTED CONVENTION AND DID NOT BELIEVE IN GOD).
SOME MIGHT THINK THERE WAS NOT MUCH TO BE PROUD OF EITHER WAY.
HE BELONGED FOR OVER 20 YEARS, TO AN 'AFRO-CENTRIC' CHURCH IN CHICAGO THAT HATES WHITES, HATES JEWS, AND BLAMES AMERICA FOR ALL THE WORLD'S PERCEIVED FAULTS. (INCLUDING CREATING THE AIDs VIRUS IN ORDER TO INFLICT IT ON AFRICANS).
HE REPEATEDLY WHITEWASHED THE PASTOR, HIS CHURCH AND THE MEMBERS WHO CHEERED AFTER HEARING VITRIOLIC TIRADES AGAINST AMERICA .
HE COULD NOT CONFRONT HIS PASTOR BUT HE WANTS US TO BELIEVE HE CAN CONFRONT NORTH KOREA AND IRAN ?
YEAH RIGHT ! !
DURING HIS VERY BRIEF TIME IN THE UNITED STATES SENATE HE HAS MANAGED TO AMASS THENUMBER ONE ULTRA LIBERAL VOTING RECORD OUT OF THE ONE HUNDRED MEMBERS.
HE HAS VOTED CONSISTENTLY FOR BIGGER GOVERNMENT AND HIGHER TAXES. HE HAS VOTED FOR BIG ENTITLEMENTS AND LEGISLATION THAT WOULD SEVERELY CURTAIL AMERICA 'S ABILITY TO FIGHT TERRORISM AND TO PROTECT OUR BORDERS AND OUR NATIONAL INTERESTS AROUND THE WORLD.
BUT, HE IS A GOOD ORATOR. ISN'T THAT A COMFORT?
YEAH, I THINK I SEE HOW WELL HE COULD UNITE THE COUNTRY.
I THINK THE TRUTH IS THAT HE HOPES NO ONE WILL PUT THE PIECES TOGETHER.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO OUR NEW CHIEF PILOT. HE HAS NEVER FLOWN AN AIRPLANE, IN FACT HE HAS NEVER EVEN SAT IN THE COCKPIT, BUT HE SAYS HE HASRIDDEN ON PLANES BEFORE. WE ARE SURE HE WILL GUIDE US SAFELY THROUGH THE STORMS WE MAY ENCOUNTER ON THIS FLIGHT.
PEOPLE, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING? HAVE YOU NEVER HEARD THE STORY ABOUT THE WOLF HIDING IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING SO HE CAN DESTROY THEM FROM WITH-IN ? THE HAND WRITING IS ON THE WALL, DO YOU NOT HAVE EYES TO SEE IT ?
THINK LONG AND HARD BEFORE YOU VOTE FOR THIS SOCIALIST GUY!

It was such a frustrating day and evening for me. I had to go meet an internet friend in a town a little over an hour away to discuss doing some piece work for him for his stained glass business and just to meet as well. To start it off wrong I forgot my cell phone at home and had to go back putting me 15 min behind and then missed my turn off and ended up going 15 miles to far before I turned around and headed back the way I had just come. After I received direction from this kindly gentleman that looked like he spent more time with his cows than his family I turned back and headed down the state highway. I was barely getting up to the speed limit (70) when something clanked against my drivers window and scared the stuffing out of me. I stopped and found out it was the trim piece that lays over where the window and door come together. I went back to look for it to no avail, making me even later than before.
My appointment was at noon and I made it at 1:35, meaning we only had a short time to discuss the work he needed done and have lunch and he literally had to sprint accross town to his next appointment which, was not an easy task considering he has a very noticible limp that effects his entire left side which, he had previously described to me as a "slight" limp. So, not only did I feel utterly stupid for being late I then felt bad for causing him to have to hurry.
On my way back toward home, I needed to stop off at the library to return a video and an audio book (My Life) about and read by, former President Bill Clinton, which I enjoyed but then I always did like to listen to his voice for some reason and too it was interesting. Arriving at the library door I realized that I had left the last disc of the book in my player at home, meaning I would have to make another 30 mile trip to town another day this week to return it.
I stopped by the local pawn shop to see if they might happen to have any memory sticks to increase the speed and performance of my PC (which they didn't have) and purchased myself a newer and much needed digital camera for 50% off the price marked leaving me to pay only $16. ![]()
Only two more stops to make, Wal-Mart and the gas station. I took my time looking around and as a result I probably had way more in my basket than I actually needed, getting extras such as, usb adapter, for my thumb drive that bends and swivels to make it easier to get use the inconvient port on my PC box, a couple cheep $5 movies, that I'm sure I could have done without and two additional movies for my Dad for Fathers day coming up, a medium size exercise ball and a pair of shorts one size to small (for incentive). Imagine my embarrassment
when I swipe my debit card and it says it is rejected. I know there is money in the bank because I just deposited my $300 check from my Uncle Sam. Of course, I don't have a check with me since I rarely carry them for fear of them being stollen and besides it's much faster to just zip the ol' credit card and go. Usually that is. I'm standing there and the cashier asks if I had another form of payment which ofcourse I reply "I am afraid not". So, I leave the store 3+ hours after I walked in without any of the items I went for including pet food for my loyal and loving companions.
To top is all off, I needed to get gas after expelling my reserve on my trek to the small town of Fayettville, TX earlier and had no where near enough to fill my tank at the station a few miles from my house, which happens to be the least expensive gas I had seen all day at $3.78 gal compared to $3.89 or $4.00 gal.
Now that I have vented, I feel the need to relax and contemplate the virtue of patience.
I hope everyone's day went much better than mine did.
