Thanks, I hope you decide to continue with us. YOur input would be greatly appreciated by all. I WILL get AARP to help us - probably after the holiday.

I don't think anyone would "hold you're being a chaplain" as an automatic reason not to listen to what you have to say. I for one, would love to know what, as a female chaplain, your duties are!
I am trying to get help from AARP helline to get us in "group forum" for us to discuss this. I am still trying to get hold of someone to get us started! Please be patient.

Hi! Wow, I had forgotten about this group. My duties? Well, I am employed by a hospital but I serve mainly at a nursing home they own. I visit with folks (and assess their spiritual needs, both external and internal), pray with folks, comfort the dying and their families. I help the staff destress. I also offer ecumenical services, and since I am Catholic, bring communion when the volunteers are not available. I'm also oncall to the hospital from time to time. That's it in a nutshell.

Sometimes folks in these forums tend to not enjoy the views of an educated Catholic woman. So I was just sticking my toe in to see what type of forum this would be. Good luck with getting the forum set up.!
