IT'S BAILOUT FEVER EVERYBODY!
Somehow the Airline Industry has weathered multiple bankruptcy reorganizations-- I am not at all happy with this privatized profit and socialized risk.
However an auto industry collapse would affect millions of jobs.
There should be consessions on all sides (all stakeholders) as a condition for the loans, as well as oversight in the distribution and spending of the money. There should be no wage consessions for the workers without a dissolution of any golden parachute executive contracts. If we're to bring wages to be comparable to foreign auto makers, then we must bring the ratio of executive salaries to average employee salaries down to 40:1 as opposed to the current 250:1 or higher.
--- too bad nobody thought to impose any oversight or conditions with the cowboys on Wall Street! Who's minding THAT store!?
In the Stop-the-Bleeding department, everybody's getting on line for a bailout: city governments are waiting their turn-- oh yes, Bailout fever will be pandemic.
