LIFE SHOULD NOT BE A JOURNEY TO THE GRAVE WITH THE INTENTION OF ARRIVING SAFELY IN AN ATTRACTIVE AND WELL PRESERVED BODY, BUT RATHER TO SKID IN SIDEWAYS, CHOCOLATE IN ONE HAND, WINE IN THE OTHER, BODY THOROUGHLY USED UP, TOTALLY WORN OUT AND SCREAMING "WOO HOO - WHAT A RIDE!!"

www.adoptaplatoon.org is an excellent organization a returning Marine I work with recommended.

You can do individuals or platoons. I signed up to write once a week and send a package once a month.

They greatly appreciate it. You have to sign up and keep all information confidential. Very professional organization.

Lots of organizations have days marked to donate to the troops and give a list of items needed. We have donated many times. But what I did notice that there are no balloons or cards that say "Welcome Home" or "Thank you for your service". I got a balloon that said "Welcome" and then wrote in marker "Home". We put it on his door . We really need to do something about this.

go to brookingsharborredshirts.org or to anysoldier.com.

anysoldier.com has lists of soldiers and what they would like to receive. We use boxes from the postoffice which are shipped by size not by weight=because you can get more "stuff" in them. Judy
