When I'm bored, it's like I'm giving life the finger
I am a serious writer and poet, who has trouble actually getting a lot of work on paper due to my ongoing health issues, most significant of which is excrutiating pain 24/7/365. But, I'm also a fun, happy, and caring person looking to find a male partner to share the later years of my life with. Hopefully, through my writing associations and activities, I will run into someone who shares my sensibilites and wants to do the same with me
Interests:
I used to be a great athlete, with track (sprints) and modern dance as my strong areas as a youth, later I taught aerobics and was a body-builder until I destroyed tendons in my left arm; 120 lb. women probably shouldn't do bicep curls with 90 lbs. until they're ready-but I regularly did.
As an old lady of 50+ now, my hobbies are more artistic; I am a writer and poet, a painter, sketcher, photographer, and lately very much into collage, and collage journaling. (Ask me about this last one if you'd like.)
I was an emotional-support worker for people with AIDS and their loved ones for over 16 yrs., and have only stopped because there is not a high demand in my current city. My life is not complete when I am not volunteering, especially for the AIDS community that is so close to my heart, and I hope to move back to a larger city so that I can resume this much needed work, and add collage journaling and writing to my list of tools for doing it.
I am partially disabled (I walk with a cane) so my sports now are walking and exercising in the pool. I don't miss running any longer, but I would give anything to lift weights again.
My "old-ladies," my two 12 year-old cats, Sweetpea and Taylor, are very important to me and I work hard to keep them young and enjoying life with me.
I am also deeply passionate about my Service Dog partner, Gryphon, a handsome and amazing tri-color, Smooth-Coated Collie who's saved my life more than a few times. He is the most unusual animal and loved immediately by all who meet him. I work him hard and he loves the job. I cannot imagine life without him
