ok obrien, thank you for your response.i am glad to see you are working with your Dr.on the meds issue.i have a low immune systyem too due to a stroke.i have arthritis very bad and i found taking 1 tablespoon/16 ounces of concentrated cherry juice daily in water or other fluids is helping me.this is not for everyone tho as it thins the blood and if on your on coumadin it cannot be taken.it is loaded with antioxidants and helps build up your immune syatem.again i wish you luck and have fun in here...joan

i take a bp med but i am not allowed to eat grapefruit while on it.quite possibly it was the grapefruit and not the bp pill that was causing problems with you.......google(do a search) the medicine to see if grapefruit interacted with your blood pressure meds.i was told i had copd approx 25 years ago but testing 4 years ago by new tests out confirmed it was not copd but asthma.i was put on albuteral along with flovent to prevent brochial spams i have had and do well.since you are using oxygen you realy should not stop your meds unless you consult your Dr 1st.......good luck to you.....enjoy your browsing in here.

I'm being very careful as I rest alot but I feel so much better--the meds I was on was said to have paint spots on it as there have been articles about it--my lung doctor knew I gave up all her meds but the albuteral but she just said to be sure to take a fluid pill but grapefruit works better. Don't worry, I have the pills if I feel I need them--

Hi Glennajean, thank you for being my friend. I am so happy since I found this site yesterday. Do you know how long it's been here? I will be in touch again as I have questions I'd like to ask you about your breathing---we do have alot in common. It's taking me a while to learn how to get around on this site. I can be off of my oxygen for about 6 hours on and off. I noticed about a month ago that my breathing got worse when I'd take my bloodpressure pill. So it was the pill and not my lungs. I'm trying to lower my bloodpressure by eating properly and cutting out all the junk---who knows maybe my lungs will be a little better---I cut out all of the lung medicine except the Albuteral throat spray. I use alot of vitamin C rich foods especially grapefruit, oranges and strawberries. I wouldn't recommend anyone to do this but I heard too many people tell me the bloodpressure medicine made their breathing difficult.
