About Me

I am 61 years young have 4 grown married children, 1 stepson and 13 grandchildren. I was married twice. I lost my first husband of 24 years at age 43 from cancer. I actually met my 2nd husband at the age of 17 when first hubby and I introduced him to his 1st wife as a blind date. He was best man in my wedding (he is still my best man) He divorced his wife of ten years. When he left his wife he moved from NJ to Florida and we lost track of him for a good 20 years. Thru the grapevine he learned of the death of my husband which had been his best friend. He managed to get my phone number. I was impressed when his first question was how are the kids and are you able to provide for them. He called at least once a week for a year. On his first visit I knew where I was meant to be. We both felt that someone upstairs brought us together, after all we lived 1200 miles apart and the odds of us getting together were low. We had the best marriage. My kids loved him as their own father and his son is like my own. Sadly we only had close to 15 years together. Although we managed to fit in some of our dreams there were some that will never be. I am so glad he came into my life because he taught me how to live again. I feel very lucky because I had something that people take a lifetime to find; True love!!

Interests:
I try to at least learn about soccer, football, nascar, and ballet to keep up with the grandkids and their activities. I collect anything that has to do with lighthouses. I was once a blackjack dealer in the Atlantic City casinos and upon moving to Florida worked front desk at Drs. office and eventually became a consultant for mobility equipment. I found so much satifaction in working with disabled people (the nicest and most considerate people I ever knew). I met many new friends who opened my world and showed me that you can do anything. When my hubby was sick I felt my clients did more for me than I could ever do for them. When my first spouce died hospice was there for me and helped me get thru it. The second time They had only seen him once but are helping me grieve. I hope to be a hospice volunteer but have to wait 1 year from his death.

This is the reason we have a Porch to sit onso we can enjoy watching the rain and stay dry. I'd like to invite you to come sit on "Our Front Porch" with us and enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of Ice tea and we even might find you a cup of "hot"tea. You can sit on our swing and enjot the topics and join in if you want. We only have one rule on the Porch --We do not talk "politics" as it can start arguments and we only want good times on the porch. If you have time come on by and visit us and join if you want. We have a great group of people. Have a good evening...BobG

Hi Nickie...I would like to extend a big Texas Size Welcome to Let's Praise
God. I am so happy you joined us. I am really proud of this group. We are
only 4-months old, and have over 300 members. We have some of the most
caring and loving people I have ever seen. They are able to laugh together,
cry together and pray together. It doesnt get any better than this.

Welcome Aboard, and God Bless
