I'm a wife, mother and grandmother (1 grandson, and 4 granddaughter's. I retired early (age 55) in August of 2007. In the profile picture, I'm seated (in the white sweater) next to the girl holding the "year" board. It was 1960/1961. Time flies when you're having fun!

Interests:
scrapbooking, grandchildren, reading, playing games on the computer and photography (although I'm not very good).

Hey Barb ~ thanks for stopping by today. I'm glad you enjoyed the journal, we're getting really excited for the Habitat Build which starts a week from today. Trust me...if you go speak to the folks at your local Habitat for Humanity I'm sure they would find something for you to do. On one of our Care-a-Vanner builds Jim and I were close to the youngest in the group and we're 54 & 55! Most of the folks were in their mid-late 60s and Jim was the only one with construction experience. I don't know if you've seen my Habitat pictures or read my other Habitat journals but you can see the tremendous difference a small group can make in the progress of a house. You work alongside the homeowners and some of the greatest people and it won't make a bit of difference if you can swing a hammer or not...there's always plenty of unskilled jobs to do.

Anyway, I would just encourage you to learn a little more about the organization and not be afraid to ask what you can do to help. I personally think the idea of a construction scrapbook would be a great thing!! You'll never know until you ask. Have a great week, Girlfriend!
