Dear Nascar,
I know exactly how you feel about the mother of your granddaughter. fI had to go to court to get grandparent visitation. she also has two other kids from her now husband. She tells me that I am just the grandmother, yet when she needs something for my granddaughter she calls me and makes nice. The hutchie moma's need to quit using the kids as a pawn to the dad's. Check out your state cause here in Canada we do have rights as grandparents and I was given visitation one weekend a month.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am glad it is not just me. I live in a state that had visitation in the past and has revised the law now that it is up to the parents as the courts feel that the childs best interest is in the parents rights. This also present the problem in my case that my son was never married to the mother and he fights to see her in what little time the mother will allow, and to top it off she must be there for him to visit. The same is with our phone calls to the grandaughter, she is right there with the phone on speaker on to hear whatever is said. Many times excuses are made that we can't even talk to her. I am at my wits end with this mother. In the case of needing something she has no problem asking for money or the newest playgame for the family(Wii was the lastest item) Iam not going to give up but my funds are running low and my son has no other children and still has problems paying support every week, which I am proud to say that he does pay. He has walked to work several times, does not nearly have the ammenties in everyday life she has i.e. phone, cable etc. but she just pushes more and more. I am trying to work more and keep myself busy ,help my son the most I can and so far still to no avail. I am not going to give up and keep praying for her to have a change of heart but that is not up to me. I really appreciate your feedback as it is nice to be able to have some one to share this with. As you enjoy the time you get to share and cherish them,as we will never be able to get these years back. God Bless! Nascar4858
