I use to live in the motor home sitting next to the tipi, We had a lot of fun traveling in the RV, and I loved my tipi. I use to do drumming and healing work in the tipi.
Great memories
Hi, my heritage is 3/4 German, the other 1/4 is split between Irish and Cherokee (my great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee). In other words a real pale face with fair complexion and blonde. My mother had black hair and black eyes. I do know they did walk the "Trail of Tears" to Harriman, Tennessee. I just finished reading The Lakota Way by Joseph Marshall, a great read. Just think, the Native Americans were here thousands of years, the Europeans came along, killed off alot of them with disease and now we are doing it with the environment. Oh good job mankind! We need to really get serious about what we have created and clean it up again before it is not controllable. Then we can start on Wall St.
All your photos were wonderful and you have great spirit in your life style. Richness comes in many forms if we only will stop long enough to enjoy it. Thanks.
What wonderful memories you must have. I'm part Indian, but Daddy isn't sure if it was his GG Grandmother or 1 before her that was full blooded Cherokee. I need to trace my roots better. I understand the call of the simpler life. We have a camper at a hunting camp & it's peace on earth... no TV and the cell phones can be put on silent. Bless you for all you do for others
Sometimes, I want to pack it all up and hit the road myself. It is probably my ancesters calling me. I am 3/8th American Indian, Chicasaw and Apache. Somewhere in my soul knows that I had both winter and summer homes ... the yearning is still there! Even if this method of living has changed, it had to be great while it lasted!! I love your tipi. If I could put one up by myself, I'd invest in one!
This is a great picture and I envy you being able to live in a RV and be within walking distance to your tipi! That is my dream come true! It may not be my life but I am glad someone lived it because it's a bit of heaven on earth. You must tell me all about it sometime Sis
