If you have read my profile or journals, you will see that I am a retired nuclear trainer, and frequent public school substitute teacher. I have no interest in serving as an advisor, because I have no REA executive credentials. I would love to provide insight into what I have found in a broad cross section of the real world of science and the industries that rely on it. My experience covers more than 40 years in a spectrum that spans agriculture careers to nuclear plant management. I have seen and know a lot of reality. How can I (help you) help our society to get where it has to go?
Please do not think that I devalue educators - the opposite. I do know there are limitations that must be repaired in preparing our students for the real world, and a public totally disgusted with the results versus the cost. If the educator community does not listen to these realities, much will change very rapidly without much input from the traditional educator industry. This critical effort is going to need the best that everyone who cares has to offer, not just the club of professional educators.
