Very unique and giving, even when not much would be left for herself. I was raised somewhat strict, and have learned to appreciate that upbringing, particularly when I see some of these kids today. I can't recall anyone not respecting or loving her. Folks would just walk in/drop by, knowing there was always an offer: "would you like something to eat?" if it was later in the evening/nightime, it was "would you like some ice cream and jello?". It drove me nuts, b/c i thought some folks were taking advantage. One day I mentioned it to her, and she said: "do as much good as you can; it might not come back to you, but it will come back to your children." As a selfish 17yr old, I thought, "good": as the eldest of her 3 daughters, it will come back to me! Thanks to my creator Yahweh, that through His grace & mercy, blessed me with her, who's name is Mary.
