Knit 1, purl squares with crocheted borders, woven together, with a single crochet border around the whole twice. The outer border alternates two colors. These go pretty quickly and I can carry the supplies for making the squares around wherever I go.
I donate these to charity.
Thank you! I used Nashua Creative Focus Superwash yarn on size 7 needles, cast on 43 sts across and did 33 rows height. The squares end up about 5 inches by 5 1/4 inches. Then added two rows of single crochet to each square. Then 25 squares total works out a nice size.
Very interesting! I have quite a bit of Sirdar "Snowflake" yarn left over from knitting matching "polar bear hug" sweaters for four of my grandchildren. I'm sure it would make a beautiful afghan now that I think of it!
