About Me

Retired from the insurance industry December 2007 and moved to NC. Quite a change from Los Angeles! I'm way out in the country - no planes, sirens, loud parties and no driving to work - 13 miles in 1 hour. It will take some getting used to. To be honest I've become kind of lazy or I could say "laidback". But it is nice not to have to rush through the day and the roads are wide open! Oh thrill!!

Interests:
I volunteered for 20 years at a wild animal sanctuary near Los Angeles. I do miss it and am looking for new outlets.

Yes I do. The Senior Center is more than that. We do have a variety of exercise classes, including Tai Chi, Belly Dancing, Senior Aerobics, and they recently started with the wii. We also go on trips, at the end of September we are going to see the Lemurs at Duke. We generally go to a park the last friday of each month. There are also trips that we take, October we go to Smith Mountain for an all day trip. Your husband may be interested as well. There are a variety of groups that do different things up there (I also do not consider myself a typical senior). It was just a suggestion since you said that you miss your volunteer work. They are having a training session this month to be a senior advocate on the federal level. It requires that you sign up for it, the number is 779-0122 if you are interested. Maybe I'll see you around town. Take care

Welcome to the retirement world. Since you live in Garner you may want to check out the Senior Center (if you haven't already) where they have a lot of activities for Seniors. It is on Old Garner Road. Beautiful dogs

Thanks but although I am I don't think of myself as a senior. I weed wack my own yard, paint my own walls, you know the rest. I'm not a card player or a singles person. Do you live near Garner?
