Everyone Shuns the Pretty TowelsHand Embroidered Peacock
This is an example of the difficulties of shooting textiles with a digital camera. The fabric is actually a smooth polished cotton, but it appears corduroy like in places.

The entire work is indeed beautiful. It's a king sized quilt with repeated blocks of hand embroidered peacocks in various poses. The work is hand quilted. It's one of about fifty pieces that I'm trying to document and photograph. I'm finding the work of American artisans in this medium to be beautiful and lovingly done.
