Hi, Well today is my 67th birthday and I'm very happy to be here. My husband and I live here in the desert. We have been here almost 5 years. Before that we live in Southern California. I really miss the ocean, especially in the winter. However, the economy and our daughter brought us here. So now we have very mild winters and really rooting tooting HOT summers. Well it's a dry heat . Anyway, I'm finally getting to feel like this is home. Have met some really nice people. Enjoy getting to see our daughter and her hubby much more then before. Before I retired I worked for Civil Service aboard Camp Pendleton, the largest Marine Corps Base on the West Coast. When I first arrived in CA the Viet Nam war was in full swing and there were many young men leaving each week. Over time there were a couple of more events that required the Marines and Navy personel to go aborad again. For awhile I worked in the commissary and eventually ended up working at the Naval Hospital. It is a teaching hospital so I got to meet many new docs. Also, Navy nurses and corpsmen. Let me tell you I have alot of respect for the corpsmen. Finally I moved on to a job with Industrial Hygiene and from there I retired. Worked for a couple of years with a company that sent CNA's, Aides and LVN's into peoples homes who needed medical help. After I fell and broke my left collar bone I decided to really retire. It was about that time we decided to move here. Just recently started eating vetarian, mu health is better and I'm finally loosing weight. I really don't miss eating meat. Like meeting new people, we are such a varied group this is a most interesting world.

Interests:

I like to watch football and then maybe some basketball. My hobbies are reading, talking with my friends on the internet. Am going to try my had at sewing and some other crafts. I love cats, at the moment we have 10 indoor cats. Oh the joys of cleaning out the potty boxes. For awhile I volunteered at the local museum gift shop. This area has alot of history. People come here to find out about their relatives.
