This past year God has taught me how to walk in Faith.
I have always looked at life in most situations as "it is all about me". Beginning in the summer of 2007, I began a jouney that would test my faith and change me forever.
My father caught west nile virus in the spring of 2007 and was diagnosed with cancer the day after my daughters wedding. The next serval months I spent driving to take care of Dad and working. On Oct 19th he died of cancer.
In October my husband was diagnosed with a virus in his knee that developed after surgery and began to destroy the bone. This resulted into 5 months of iintervenous antibiotics and PT.
In November my daughter excitedly announced she was expecting her first child. Our joy was short lived when we learned at the first sonogram, the baby had Trisomy 13 (chromosome defect) and survial rate was zero, the longest living full Trisomy reported was 1 Yr. After days of prayer over a difficult decisions.,the choice was made to continue with the pregnancy . Our little one was born on June 29th and we had five glorious days with him when God took him home on July 4th. His short life continues to touch families all across the country as a testemony of faith.
January of 2008 I moved my my to an alzheimers facility and began the process of becoming her primary caregiver.
Why am I sharing my journey? Hopefully as a reminder that it isn't about what we go through, but how we go through it ,and if we are willing to allow God to carry us through our seasons of sorrow we find that the safest place to be is in the center of Gods will.
