The weekend has passed.and I made it through. There were several of us who played cards Friday night. I had a good time. I didn't fall apart. I made it through. Saturday we cooked out at my daughter's house, Watched a movie and had a good time. I stayed over. My son-in-law and my 12 year old grandson cooked breakfast for my daughter and myself. We had a good day. For those of you who don't know, my loving husband of 50 years died unexpectedly a year ago on May 10. At the time I thought it was the end of the world. It wasn't. I still have the memories of our life together. The memories of the night he died are still there,but they come less often. It is getting better. I made it through the year. Good for me.

Good for you!! I just lost my husband in February so I face the coming holidays without his being here...... I'm learning how to do for myself, he spoiled me terribly... :) so everyday is some kind of learning experience. I have the support of my wonderful kids and grandchildren and friends so perhaps the holidays won't be as bad as I envision them to be. I can't let myself dwell on what could be or what was, but what is and be the person he loved and believed in.

Hi, I'm glad you were able to make it through the weekend, I know how hard certain dates can be, my Mother passed away many years ago on Good Friday, and her birthday was May 2nd, for a long time I would get depressed during this time, I would think of how she died, Now I still cry a little, but I remember how she lived, and what a wonderfullegacy she left all of her children, of a mother who, in my opinion, did a wonderful job of raising her family, and instilling in all of us, her moral character, and beliefs. It's still hard , but it does get better with time.Have a great day.......Jen43
