About Me

All my life I was "model" thin which in real life is not pretty; 5'7" and at my heaviest managed to tip the scales at 117 so when I starting gaining weight in my 40s, I was thrilled.....for about 10-15 years....and then it didn't stop so by the time I retired and moved to SC I was about 10 lbs overweight. Then I had a fall, herniated a disc and away went tennis and the gym....oops. 3 years later I suddenly had changed that 10 lbs to 33. Now since Jan 09 I've lost 18 of those lbs and have hit the dreaded plateau with 15 more to go. If anyone has tips on jumpstarting the loss again (other than doing w/o carbs totally....know that will work but that was the hardest two weeks of my life....far worse than stopping smoking 9 years ago) I'd love to hear from you

Interests:
I am an accountant so I do VITA tax work during the season and have been selling vintage lingerie on Ebay since my "retirement" but should finish up with that this year. Would like to find some volunteer work with infants but around here that doesn't seem to be an option....guess reading to the elderly is my only other choice. I stil enjoy watching tennis but can't take the chance on aggravating the disc to play again....I do work out 4-5 times a week at the gym now....can't find a walking buddy as this is not a newcomer friendly town
