Thank you Diane! I am so happy you replied and yes I will take care of myself and keep in touch with you also! I have the drive and motivation to be really physically active, it's the bones and arteries as well as ticker that slow me down and remind me I'm in a whole different space than I use to be. I am so thankful to be able to do all the things I can, especially take a little walk with my Renji. I walk too fast when he's not with me puttering along bouncing down the sidewalk sniffing everything! I appreciate your kindness. Have a really good time at whatever you might be doing! Later!

Hi kcmodb,
I read about your Mother's Day week-end, thank you for sharing! I am concerned about your high blood pressure though, that is a little too high and since I understand you're on a medication for it already, please have it checked out with the doctor. I have inherited high blood pressure aggravated by my bad habit through the years. It was under control from 1999 to2005 when I encountered different problems. I had been taking NSAIDS to help with my progressing arthritis for over 2 years and as I understand it that wasn't so good. I had a week filled with trips to the emergency room the last week of June and had been sent home again the night before my heart attack! I knew it was coming with the pressure and pain in my shoulders feeling like a volcano about to blow it's top upward through the neck and head. My doctor had noticed spots on my lung that had to be biopsied so I received a stint in my artery. Just before Labor Day I was building to experience another attack, but thanks to my previous experience, off to the hosital for another stint. I'm trying to make this long story short so to finish, my lung biopsy was cryptococcus pneaumonia, a fungal virus requiring 9 months of antibiotics. My arteries were closing off in December so I had to have a 4 way bypass and heart valve implant! Made it home by Christmas Eve 2006. I don't say all this to scare you, just to let you know I ended up with a damaged heart. I must say I reccommend "Doggie Friendship" as one of the VERY best blood pressure lowering medicines around! My little Renji, Daschund Mix has seen me through it all. I'm doing really good with my heart. Bless you and take good care!

Janice I hope you are taking better care of yourself now. I have trouble thinking I am immortal still, and want to act like I did when I was 29. My Dr says the only reason my chol is low, is because of medical miracles. I want him to keep looking for them. Since I have retired, I am a lot more physically active and hope that helps. But I have a good appetite and really like to cook and cook for others also. I donate to our local Hope House for abused women and children and feel a kinship for you and your problems. Please keep in touch Diane
The long sticks of black licorice. Let me explain. It was wrong of me to even suggest you could avoid medication. Obviously, you have been dealing with this problem for some time now. All I can tell you is there is an ingredient in the licorice similar to blood pressure lowering meds. It is important to work on your diet for control, but you are more aware of that the average person. I really hope this helps you. In reading about your blood pressure it isn't as bad as it could be but maybe this is because you are taking blood pressure controlling medication. Good luck. Oh, any brand of licorice (black) will work.
I noticed your complaint of HBP and thought I would give you a natural way to control it. Eat black Licorice. If you have a Blood Pressure cuff you will be amazed at how soon it is lowered. Doesn't hurt to try. Let me know how it works
