You have the ideal life my friend. I would love to be far away with only nature and some faithful pets to keep me company. But my heart would miss the day in and day out drama that infests the life of my kids and grandkids. My husband, who is also younger than I am, is a people person and would drive me nuts if I was his only source of companionship. He needs to talk and its best to be where there are a lot of other people for him to talk to!
My hubby still goes to work every day so he has lots of social life away from me, thank God!
And I "visit" with my kids... (there's 6 of them) online almost every day. I have never been one to get at all "ga-ga" over grands. I love them when they get to be young adults but I guess I had enough of babies when I had my own crawling all over me way back when I was single parenting. I do have one great-grand, however, and I do love getting photos of him and his progress
Hi Jo,

Some times animal friends make more sence than human beings !
I enjoyed your journal, Happy birthday America. How true and how well written.
take care....your friend lonnie
