Single, Gay Man living in VA suburbs of Washington, DC. I'm a CPA, but I came to the profession late in life, and I'm not much of a fan of my professional peers or of the way the profession "works." I started my life as a professional musician, making a decent living working as a freelancer in New York City, but a problem with my jaw ended that career very early in my life; and after many years of trying on other hats, I ended up choosing accounting and audit as the way that I make my living. I make peace, daily, with the fact that I can't make my living doing what makes my heart sing. There Oprah! Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Interests:

I'm enjoy walking both in the city and the country (I can do wilderness). I hit the gym for weight training and cardio work as often as I can. I would enjoy getting involved in rowing or kayaking, I think; and I am thinking about buying a bicycle, but only if I determine that I can actually use it to commute to work. I attend opera performances and orchestra concerts, often; both in DC and in NY, Philadelphia, Boston, Chicago, and other places. I have both traveled to attend operas and concerts, and when I happen to be in a town where an interesting program or opera is being offered, I will often take the time to attend. I am a little less an avid theater goer, but I do enjoy the theater immensely, and take in performances of new plays and musicals, as well as productions of classics. I lived in Los Angeles for many years, and while I see many fewer films now than I did at that time, I still enjoy a well made film. I actually do some volunteer work. I started as a poll worker during an election in spring of 2007, and I have been working in my local precinct ever since. These days, I find that I spend most of my life pursuing the almighty dollar, and I work daily to try to find balance in my life.
