My Journals (1)

09/27/2008.  Thanks for welcoming me into the group.  I'm anxious to share thoughts and experiences with all members, especially about the challenges of growing older in this society, and in forming a community of friends.  I'm also anxious to connect with those of  you who enjoy hiking and the outdoors.  I'm 77, and I find it a little difficult to keep up with some of the younger people in Seattle's premier hiking group, The Mountaineers, at least on some of the tougher jaunts; mostly I've hiked with a couple of friends who are about 10 or 20 years younger.

I do have a lot of other interests, so if you're not a hiker, that doesn't mean we can't enjoy conversing.

It will take me about a couple of weeks to get a photo on line, but it will appear as soon as possible.

Hi Jen -- Sorry I've been slow in answering; it's been a busy week.

"Just" walking is great! Hunting mushrooms sounds like fun -- if you know what you're doing. Some people I know in western Washington State do this, too. What area of the country do you live in?

Thanks again for your message -- have a great day, and write again when you can.
