Somehow I managed to send the former message, and I wasn't finished. I'm not sure what I did. I wanted to know about YOUR knitting? Also, where are you located? I'm in Dearborn, Michigan. Although we are waiting for rain today, it's supposed to snow in a few days. AGAIN. I'm SO tired of winter.
What projects are YOU working on? How long have you been knitting? I started knitting when I was an undergrad, and that was a looooooooooong time ago. My very first project was argyle socks. I made them for my Dad, and as you know, Dads are caring, understanding, and willing to wear a beginner's pair of socks.

I'm in DC. I'm an odd and rare bird: a DC native. Went out to Ohio for college but came right back. :-) I've been to the west coast of Michigan recently and once visited Ann Arbor. We're getting rain tomorrow.
I'm actually doing a lot of crocheting lately, granny squares. Making baby blankets kinda like the ones in my photos, or larger afghans. When i knit, i make prayer shawls with a group from my church. Just had to send one to my sister, alas, who is ill. I use lots of different textures of yarn and use really large needles, like circular 15s, and two or three colors, like teal and black, and whip something up starting with one stitch and ending with maybe 200. a nice triangle shape.
i used to knit sweaters, hats, vests. I might get back to that someday. while my kids are teens, i'm juggling so much, i can't seem to count stitches or follow a pattern to save my life. :-)
i learned to knit as a child but it didn't "Take" until high school. i once knit a red cabled hat for my dad and i goofed on the gauge. It fit a small child. I was so embarrassed.

I'm a retired Ph.D, I retired from Marygrove College in Detroit. Since I'm retired, I have lots of time; and although I'm fairly active, not as active as you. The reason for DOCbev, my husband gave me that online name. I'm one of those knitters who has several projects going. Well, come to think of it, it's MORE than several. I have two projects (sweaters) that are complete, they just need putting together. I do tend to procrastinate on that task. Next to me are several projects: a purse, a wallaby sweater, a drop-stitch scarf, and a tote bag. I'm still knitting on all of these.

Why thank you, ma'am! I knit in the car as a passenger, while watching movies at home, while waiting for planes keeping one ear open to hear flight announcements. Its like OCD with me: i keep my fingers busy and i calm down. A functional compulsion, i call it. I sure have produced a lot of stuff that way. :-) How about you. If you're a doc, you have NO free time.
