I took part in an art show called "Is it a boy or a girl" here in DC. I stood by these baby blankets that i'd crocheted, and asked any man who came by, particularly if he was accompanied by a woman, if he'd feel comfortable having any of these on their own boy baby, hypothetically. Apparently, ANY pink indicates "female", and they'd avoid it. Pink is apparently like lipstick: an unqualified female gender signal. So, gender neutral is actually more like, male-comfortable with no danger of confusion. Interesting. It was a great show at the Warehouse Gallery right by the Convention Center.
