I was a real estate sales person and when I needed cash I did short temp jobs to fill in. One interesting job was to stand on assembly line at a truck building and when the part didn't fit, the line shut down. i pulled blueprints and made measurments to correct and get the line moving again. the men just sat down and waited with no interest in the plant itself. but i had the opportunity to learn to read blueprints. That helped me later at TWA when I was a buyer staff assistant and pulled drawings for modification to aircraft, my permanent job at the time. Another tem job I had was to organize the assembly line in an aluminum factory to eliminate down time, working on the floor with the sandcast and poured aluminum for flaws. It was a further example of assembly line, blueprint analysis as a part time employee. Since I had a basic knowledge of high school chemistry the temp agancy sent me to a paint company. I organized a complete filing system for paint used on all manufacturers for ordering the correct paint for each car. most of the temp jobs were hot, dirty, some short, some long, but each time i learned something besides real estate. each one learning another skill. All these were managed along with real estate and a church job directing or playing music. A very busy time in my life.
