About Me

I enjoy travelling, genealogy research, writing, an avid reader, antique cars, and tea with my friends

Interests:
Currently working on putting together old family photos and research data I've collected over the years on my family. I've been recently learning how to repair old family black and white photos from the late 1920's and 1940's that are slowing fading. What a fun project it is and there's such terrific free photo editing tools online to help me along. I've been compiling it altogether and sending out packets to various family members...so they can have it to share and help preserve our family history.

Interesting tidbit from the American Journal of Cardiology:

The experts all advise that if you think you're having a heart attack, the first thing you should do is chew an aspirin tablet.

But because aspirin starts to break up as soon as it touches your tongue, why chew it instead of swallowing it?

Here's why, according to the American Journal of Cardiology. Researchers at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School recruited 12 volunteers and measured the length of time it took for the aspirin to inhibit blood clotting, which is the reason to take it after a heart attack.

They found that swallowing a whole aspirin takes 12 minutes to have any effect on your blood's clotting time; drinking a liquid remedy containing aspirin takes seven minutes to work, but chewing a regular aspirin tablet shows benefits in only five minutes.

Wow! that's sounds like fun. I also wanted to point out that you really resemble your mother.
