Have you heard the news? AARP Massachusetts has a new state president. A life-long advocate, educator, and advisor for seniors and their families, Linda Fitzgerald has volunteered with AARP for the past 30 years in a number of roles, including the Executive Council and as a Congressional key contact. The Sunday Republican profiled Linda this past Sunday.
Throughout her career Linda says her number one goal was to assist the elder and larger community through service and advocacy efforts. AARP appointed the Springfield resident to the volunteer position in March 2009. As state president, she will lead social change for over 880,000 Massachusetts residents age 50+.
And there is more to Linda than dedicating her life to advocacy and service efforts for seniors and their families. Did you know Linda also loves her “large, wild and diverse family?” To find out more about her life and hopes for leading AARP Massachusetts, check out our Q&A with Linda Fitzgerald.
Excited about our new state president? What advocacy efforts would you like to see Linda focus on?

Congrats to Linda! Nice to see someone outside of the 128 loop helping to lead AARP efforts in our state.
