Did you know that AARP Massachusetts has more than 1,900 volunteers in our AARP Tax-Aide, Money Management and Driver Safety Programs? These volunteers make a huge difference in the lives of individuals and in communities across the Bay State.
According to a story in the Boston Globe, President Obama is doing his part to encourage Americans to volunteer by signing a national service bill, the Edward M. Kennedy National Service Act.
Inspired to make a difference in the lives of others? Right now AARP Massachusetts is seeking congressional district volunteers to advance health care reform at the national level, and work on other issues impacting Bay State members. For more information on this opportunity, click here. For other volunteer opportunities with AARP Massachusetts click here.
Haven’t volunteered before? This is the week to start! April 19-25 is National Volunteer Week. What are you waiting for? Now is your chance to make a difference in your community. AARP has launched Create the Good to help our members get involved in activities that assist their neighbors and better their communities. More than 250 opportunities to make a difference are featured currently on the Create the Good website.
Do you enjoy giving back? What are your plans for National Volunteer Week?
