Are you looking for the “fountain of youth”? Well, author Dan Buettner thinks he may have found it – or at least one of them!
AARP is working with Buettner, a world-renowned longevity expert and explorer, on a unique mission to the newest longevity hotspot or “Blue Zone.” Buettner and his team of scientists have traveled to Icaria, an isolated Greek island, to further investigate why residents of this locale experience extraordinary longevity.
This quest, sponsored in part by AARP, includes a nine-person team of demographers, medical experts, writers, and videographers. And you can join them virtually at www.aarp.org/bluezones as they try to unlock the secrets to living long and healthy lives.
From April 20 through May 1, you can help direct Buettner and his team. Vote daily to determine where the team goes, what they do, and whom they meet. Each night they’ll report back with written accounts, photographs, and videos.
