I need someone who is familiar with Arizona Unemployment insurance to answer a simple yet complex question. May I draw Social Security while I am drawing unemployment? The booklet says some pensions, annuities or retirements are not deductible etc etc, but never says what the rules are. I think they want you to assume that you cannot draw both but do not say which is what. Any information will help Thanks in advance. CBP |

Only four states do not allow the collection of unemployment and Social Security retirement benefits simultaneously - LA, IL, UT and SD. SD will permit simultaneous collection when they have funding available, but right now, no.

FYI Ask.com sent me back to a post I made in this cooler in July and I had forgotten the answer; which is yes. Only five states do not allow it and AZ not one. Thanks for getting me back there CBP
Hi cowboypoet! I'm not familiar with Arizona's unemployment insurance services, but when I initially had a couple questions on unemployment insurance, I went to www.ask.com and typed in my questions. I was surprised to read several posts related to my specific questions which answered them and offered statewide unemployment insurance referral sites. You might want to try it and see if someone has already asked the same question and received responses. Hopefully, an expert will read your question posted here and answer specificially. I'm curious as well. Cheers!
