For the past two days none of the Mah Jongg games would open for me (I just get a white box where the game should be), and now today the same thing has happened with Spider Solitaire.
I have the latest Flash player, and there's no indication in the games that I need anything else (the bar at the bottom says "Done." I've logged out of AARP, rebooted my computer, and started all over again. Same thing.
Any suggestions? |

Go to the Adobe Flash Player website and check that your copy is working well. They have a little movie thing that says "if you can see this your player is correctly installed" or something like that. Having the newest version doesn't automatically mean that it is working properly. Sometimes little files that it needs get corrupted through no fault of your own and just have to reinstall it over it again.
.
Once you have verified that, check your available memory. Have you installed anything recently that hogs up a lot of RAM? Many times, when the games won't play it is because the user is running a lot of other programs in the background and doesn't have enough RAM to do all of it at once AND play these games. Also, just shutting off a program doesn't automatically mean that the system will free up the RAM used by it. Some programs, like Excel, are rather rude like that. To get that RAM back, you have to re-start your system.
.
Also check your available free space on your hard drive. If it is more than 80% full, start cleaning it out. Your computer uses your free space on your hard drive to shuffle things in and out of RAM. At the very least, use the properties box in IE to remove all temporary files.
.
Defragment your system.
.
I can't guarantee that these steps will fix it, but it would be the first four things I'd do.
Hi!
I played MahJohonng games and everything worked fine.
I hope you can fix the problem.
I hope by today your problem is fixed. I just went to GAMES and tried all 3 with no problem.
Could it be that your computer is working very slow and you're just not on the white screen long enough? I've had crazy stuff like that happen to me. If it takes too long cick "Go back to all games" and click on it again and see.
Go to an entirely different game you NEVER play and see if it works.
Good luck.
Sending a message to the community host, (Teri) from the group of the same name, works pretty well for me, they get to your problem and help you out. Good luck!
I don't know. I've been playing Mahjongg Dimensions all day. But then, I usually keep the games tab open on my computer. So, I haven't had to try to get into it lately.
