Mythologies
Mythologies are ancient stories first written by poets untold years ago. They sought to explain a world of the unseen and unknown. Myths were created to humanize a world and free man from the paralyzing fear of an omnipotent Unknown. The best guides to this knowledge are the Greek writers and poets who believed what they wrote. Unlike the Romans who did not. The gods and goddess looked much like mortals but were more handsome or beautiful and could do no wrong. Monsters and beasts stood for all the dark and wickedness inhabiting the earth. The gods often descended to earth; sometimes in their own shapes or disguised as humans or animals. These gods honored Mother Earth from whom they had all originated. Today these stories still transcend time and meaning bringing light and even darkness into a complicated world. Let us attempt to find human nature in these myths and relate the stories into our lives.
