REMEMBER THOSE SPECIAL TIMES!!
Remember the day's when we were young, when our Mother or Aunts wore mink stoles, and sometimes they weren't even outside! :-) Remember the day's when we played hop scotch, bought our first car, most of us married, and fewer got divorced! Remember Radio and Early TV, We didn't have the Internet in those day's. In fact we didn't even have Cell phones. What Memories do you have to share about your life? Join in the fun! Shelby

My family was the first to have a TV set on our street. I remember the neighbors coming over to watch the shows and eat popcorn and drink Cokes and 7-Up.

My mom said that her family got their first TV when she was 13 in 1953.  She said the brand of it was ARVIN:

The first "color" TV I ever saw was one day when my mother and I were visiting church friends.  They had a piece of Saran Wrap stuck to the screen.  It had the gradient colors of the rainbow from top to bottom, so the people might have had a yellow scalp, green hair, a blue face, a purple neck, and a red shoulder or body.

Does anybody remember the show in which you put a transparent piece of (plastic?) over your TV screen on Saturday mornings.  You had to order it from the show, along with a special pen. When they put the "mystery" dot-to-dot thing up, you had to follow the numbers visible through the transparent plastic to guess what the mystery item was.  What was the name of that show?

I remember the friends that use to gather at each other's houses to play cards and enjoy each other's company.  Then the first B & W TV.  Gradually people began to stay at home and watch TV.  After all there was no way to tape anything then.  We were not the first to get a color TV but the neighbors invited us over to watch the Rose Bowl Parade.  Quite impressive for those days.

Oh, yes!  In 1970 when I was 12 my parents bought their first new car.  It was one of the first Ford Pintos.  One year later they bought their first color TV.  It was a vertical Curtis Mathis.  Both the Ford Pinto and Curtis Mathis "bit the dust" many years ago.

I remember a later season of Spin and Marty when there was a girl's dude ranch nearby. Can't remember the name of that ranch. Can you? I remember Annette was in that series. Too bad that she can no longer speak due to her MS.
