At Michelle Bachmann's Tea Party the funniest thing of all was dumb John Boehner, Minority Leader of the House, waving a copy of what he called the Constitution and proceeding to read from it ..... only problem is he quoted:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
which happens to be from the Declaration of Independence and NOT the Constitution...could it be he doesn't know the difference?? Or does he think they're one and the same? None of his audience seemed to know either.....he got a big round of applause - some patriots. LOL |

So - Limbaugh, Boehner, and myriad others in various pockets of the vaunted conservative movement have AGAIN (for the umpteenth time) proven to all that they are grossly ignorant, and indeed, willfully so. And the same is obviously true of the majority of their followers (or is it foolowers?).
I don't believe they are stupid as much as deliberately and willfully ingnorant of the actual truth, greedy, vindictive, and indeed, in the biblical sense of the word, evil. Winning and looking good to others is far more important than the biblical injunction to love their neighbor as themselves. That's not peccadillo, that's greedy, selfish, premeditated evil.
They are certainly NOT the kind of people one would trust with the welfare of one's children, pets, or in fact anything more important than a burned out match.
Gee, ya think that might be why I left the Publican Party during the Nixon (just another Republican Crook....) Impeachment hearings? Nawww....... that would cause a conservative to come to a rational, logically arrived at conclusion, something they are violently allergic to...........

I am not at all against HCR- is there some reason for you to say I am not. I have outlined my HCR ideas on these pages numerous times.
Perhaps I am not for a bill that creates 111 new Federal bureacracies, forces people to buy insurance of the type tthe government tells them to, uses financial gimicry to fudge the cost and make it about 50% less than it is; injects to government into yet more of the private sector and is aimed at going to single payer, doesn't do one thing to reduce any costs, steals $500 bil from Medicare; doesn't have any effective controls to eliminate participation in subsidies by illegal aliens, prohibits the satates from limiting junk lawsuits ot any caps on trail lawyer fees, provides a Tojan horse to force healthcare workers into the SEIU, puts a multi-trillion dollar burden on our struggling economy... ad infinitim.
The WORST thing is- it is a big bang mess that has no chance of sucess- it creates a huge risk for our healthcare system- much worse than many of the failed state experiments. It will lead to rationing (especially for seniors), extrodinarily long waits, doctors taking early retirement.. most likely all out chaos and dislocation.

I don't need you telling me - I'm well aware of the importance of health care reform in this country and I assume by your snarky post that you are against it. I've been fighting FOR it to the best of my ability and shall continue to do so. We've waited 50+ years for it. Republicans fought MEDICARE, MEDICAID and SS - where would millions of Americans be now without these?
It's a disgrace that anyone in the United States of America should be WITHOUT health insurance. We are BEHIND every other industrialized nation in the world. Health care should not be a PRIVILEGE for those who can afford it.....it's a necessity for everyone.
