Hi Everyone and Welcome,

While I love the news, and  feel the best News Sources are CNN, http://www.cnn.com and GOOGLE NEWS    http://www.google.com/news.  Since we all have different opinions, which are your favorite News and/or Reference  Websites!

In fact with Google News, I programed it to be my Homepage instead of my ISP.   If you wish to program in your favorite website to be your homepage on Microsoft Explorer, just know it's easy.

Just GO to your FAVORITE WEBSITE, click on TOOLS  on the top portion of your browser, then click on INTERNET OPTIONS and finally click on USE CURRENT and then click on OK.

Again, I would love to hear which are your favorite News and Reference Websites???  Shelby

How long can that bottle of ketchup stay in your fridge before it goes bad?   I'm thinking 5 or 10 years but if you want an expert opinion, go to the web site below.  This site lists all kind of foods and how to keep them fresh longer as well as when to get rid of them.  If you have a question click on the particular picture, and a whole list of stuff appears.

WHAT A GREAT SITE!

Hello LIttlemite:

If you're searching for new and useful consumer product-oriented websites, do check out Cheapism.com at http://www.cheapism.com. This site focuses on recommendations for the best cheap products and gives shoppers all the information they need to make a good choice. Each of the articles includes a rundown of features and an assessment of performance. With so many of us struggling to make the most of our limited dollars, this site helps us find the products we need at prices we can afford and be confident we're getting good value for our money. Buying cheap doesn't have to mean buying junk.

Happy shopping,

Cheapista

HI Retired Traveler,

The library is an excellent source for Magazines as well as books, and one can view a magazine, and see if they want to go further and subscribe.

Consumer Reports, is an excellent magazine, and I never mind paying money to subscribe to a good publication.

One of the best International Travel Magazines in my opinion is "INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL NEWS".  They will even send you one FREE issue to try it before you buy it.

In fact every month those who travel extensively write articles  or commentaries about their trips, both good, bad, and readers give opinions on money saving tips.

They even have ratings on Tour Companies in certain issues.  When collected as I did years ago, it makes for good reference material.

There are also well respected tour operators who advertise in that publication, that Americans might not know anything about otherwise!   Shelby

Just a caution on that Consumer Reports site. You have to subscribe, for money, in order to see the reports. They just give you a 'teaser' paragraph and tell you that you can read all about it, for a fee.

I'm a major user of consumer reports. Never purchase anything without looking at their descriptions, at the least, if not the actual comparisons. But, I do that for free in the library.
