We watched it on dvd a week or so ago. I wanted it to be better than it was. Both Denzel and John were very good in their roles. The movie started with reasonable intensity, but faltered. Metacritic rated it at 55. So, not a bad result. I like movies to leave me with something. Entertain me, make me say wow, make me want to discuss something about it. It just wasn't there.

Yes  Carlos    John Travolta  did   make the  movie,   Although  Robert Shaw in the  original was  more  menacing  .  You  would not think twice about  fulfilling  his demands.

The ending in the old  movie was  much  better also.   Do you remember how they found  one of the group  by  his sneezing.   that was sooo cool.

thanks for  replying to my  post

have a nice day

I put off seeing Pelham, for the very reason you give here. I'm slow to see remakes. I went to see the remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still, and I was really disappointed. The original was far more superior inspite of Keanu Reeves having the lead.

Hey butterfly47! Yeah I've seen it and you're right not as good as the original, but not bad because of Washington and Travolta, especially Travolta's character, he was off the chain sort of speak. I think he (Travolta) "made" the movie!   Carlos
