Hi Everyone,

We all know that those here have different opinions on Health Care Reform & Public Option.  We also know that this bill will be difficult to pass in the Senate.

Therefore it's vital for those who believe in Health Care Reform, and Public Option to write to your Senators and make your opinions heard.

Millions of people remain uninsured, because they either can't afford insurance or can't quality.  Then there are people who go broke because they can't pay their hospital bills.

In a Country like America, this is unconciounable!  So I'm urging members who believe in Health Care Reform, and Public Option to write, call or email their Senators to make your voices heard.  Shelby http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm

How to . . .   contact U.S. Senators

You can contact your senators by writing an e-mail or a letter, by calling, or by visiting.  All questions and comments regarding public policy issues, legislation, or requests for personal assistance should be directed to the senators from your state. Please be aware that as a matter of professional courtesy, many senators will acknowledge, but not respond to, a message from another senator’s constituent.

e-mail to your senator , please include your return postal mailing address.

Postal Mail

Please include your return postal mailing address when corresponding with a Senate office.

  • You can download the list of senators names and addresses and convert this into a spreadsheet for easy management of senators' names and office addresses.
  • Directions:
                1) Go to  the
XML version of the senators' contact list.
                2) At the top of the screen click on "File," then select "Save                 As." Save the file to your desktop.
                3) Open Excel, or your preferred spreadsheet.
                4) At the top of the spreadsheet click on "File" then select "Open."                 Open the file from your desktop.
                5) If the program prompts you to choose a display for the information                 select "Open as a XML list."
  • You can also direct postal correspondence to your senator as follows:

    The Honorable (Name)
    United States Senate
    Washington, D.C. 20510

    Dear Senator (Name)

For correspondence to a Senate committee or to a Senate committee         chair:

    (Name of Committee)
    United States Senate
    Washington, D.C. 20510

or The Honorable (Name)
    Chairman, Committee on (Name)
    United States Senate
    Washington, D.C. 20510

Telephone

You may phone the U.S. Capitol Switchboard at (202) 224-3121. A switchboard operator will connect you directly with the Senate office you request.

HI Rhytonen,

Thank you for your post.  I'm glad you speak up for your beliefs and contact your Congressmen and Senators.  Even though they don't answer personally, our opinions are logged.

We need more people like you.  I work with three other people in my office, and all are for Health Care Reform.  The two younger individuals don't want to take the time to write in or call. I suppose their too self-absorbed with their social lives!

The the other SeniorGentleman in our office said.  "I have always been for Health Care Reform, but now I have Medicare, and don't feel the need to write in, unless it affected me directly like Social Security."  Rhytonen, to me this is a very selfish viewpoint.

You're right about Fox, in that they have instilled so much fear into the public with misinformation, that this has helped to slow down the process.  All they they want is the Obama Administration to fail just like Rush stated.  The only thing is if he fails, then so does we the American People.   Shelby

Good post for both sides!

Some of us are upset by the heavy handed Democratic actions in the House and hope for a better plan to finally emerge which provides real reform at a sustainable cost.

As for myself, I do it every couple of days until the queue loads up.

Incidentally one almost NEVER gets through to one's congressperson or senator on the phone, at least out here.

Our Congresspeople are definitely having to earn their money these days, but I'd blame Faux.

Health Care would have gone through by now if they hadn't pumped out that $1.4Million a day for the astroturfers to "energize" the pathetic Midwestern parents' basement racists and sociopaths (-with which group incidentally the mentally unraveling Michele Bachman appears best to identify-) looking for their Freedomworks-subsidized '15.'

If paying to have the nation's works gummed up has become the new political M.O. of corrupting Corporate Industry, it's going to get old for the congress -both sides!- really fast. Even the petulant sourgrapes rage of the losers will eventually wear out, but the machine of greed's inertia won't be so easily stopped.
