Hey, lets hear it for those folks that like to drive in the left hand lane on the freeway speeding(?) at 35mph?  or  The I-Own-The-Road guy who's out on a scenic Sunday drive....on a Wednesday -during rush hour traffic.  or  How about the driver who only knows how to turn ON his turn signal and it remains in that one option; eventhough he's going the other way.  or  ??????  Whats your take? Cindy

"This too shall pass?" Sometimes as painfully as a kidney stone.

April, Just about everything I write is all done is humor.  Even the piece you had responded to.  There is very little that upsets me really, pretty easy going.  But I guess its my zealous approach that seems to have bothered some folks in our Community.   :)   Cindy (cin170)

We all had to take a defensive driving class at work and the one thing that really stuck with me was--"You can't control anyone's driving but your own."  Ever since then, I always think of that when stuck in annoying situations in town or on the highway and I just take a deep breath and know that this, too, shall pass.  There's just nothing you can do but p*ss off the other driver and/or raise your own blood pressure.  It's not worth it!

Road rage off the road is only slightly different.  Although you can't control others' emotions or actions, you can control yours--and walk (or run!) away.

Relax!  Find a song on the radio you can sing to full blast and off key to take your mind off the bloomin' idiots out there!

HI Cindy,

Thank you for this new Group Topic.  These two incidents happened years ago, and today I wouldn't handle it in such a manor.  It's too dangerous in today's world!

Years ago I encountered someone with Car Rage, and I wasn't even driving.  I was at a Gas Station.  After I filled up I was washing my windows, while someone waiting for that spot was fuming.

Cindy, I walked over to his car, and tapped on the hood, to get his attention and signaled that he could use the Gas Pump on the other side, which was not being occupied.  I was not in the least bit upset.

This older man hopped out of his car, yelling at me for touching his car.  Then started coming at me with clenched fists.  Fortunately there were others at that Gas Station who held the man back!

Another such incident of road rage, was when I got angry because a pickup truck was tailgating me.   I slowed down even more, to get him to drive in the passing lane, and that didn't work.

So I stopped my car in the middle of the street and hopped out of my car with bare feet.

Coincidentally there was someone that I knew in some cars back and he wondered why cars were stopped.

Then he saw a little lady, shaking my fingers, and balling out the driver who was tailgating and realized that little lady was me.

The driver of that vehicle, told me to get my "A" back to where I lived.  I then told him that if he didn't stop tailgating me, I would get his "A" to the police station.

I then got back in my car and drove off.  As I mentioned it would be much too dangerous to do this in today's world!  So we do live and learn! Shelby

What about all the people who never obay the limit. It doesn't matter what the sign says, everyone is always doing 10 to 15 mph faster. I  maybe in that left lane looking for the turn I have to make to the left, and doing the limit to 5 mph faster, and some one is always right on my bumper trying to make me go faster. If you get over to the right, then try getting back when your turn comes up. Their attitude is look out here I come get out of the way your blocking the road. It is very seldom I see a polite person who will give an inch. So I get in the left lane well before I have to turn, and stay there. I can't afford to pay a fine just because others don't care if they get one.

I love to approach those drivers who drive in the left lane when it's dark out.  I keep them a flash of my brights and if they don't oblige, then I leave them on.  I always say, "Slow drivers make aggressive drivers."
