 Hi Everyone,

While driving to the Dentist, I heard a Radio Talk Show Host celebrating the Death of Ted Kennedy, and I was in shock.

It's fine not to like an individual or politician, but to celebrate their death in such a public way is disrespectful to their families, especially at a time like this.

This same talk show host talked like our President is an enemy to our country, and he is not alone.  One Conservative Radio Talk Show after another are trying to rile up others to hate, and this involves safety concerns for President Obama!

When this subject was brought up, another Talk Show Host, thought that such concerns were a Democrat ploy to gain sympathy for the President, but what is the reality?

While it's fine to disagree with any President, there are hate groups who would like nothing better than to eliminate our President.

Doesn't all this promoted hatred, send a message to nuts like Lee Harvey Oswald, the  notion that he would be doing a service to our Country to kill the President.

Then some Republicans don't even seem concerned when guns are brought to town hall meetings!   What is wrong with this picture?

In your opinion, are some Republicansinadvertently adding fuel to the fire with their rhetoric, and mailings??? Shelby

Hi Terri,

This is an excellent website, and you shouldn't loose your respect for this website, just because others don't agree with you!

If someone makes a misstatement, it's easy to correct them with proof that they are mistaken. Then that person would grow from that knowledge!

Terri, we all have different opinions, which does make any Group more interesting, for it would be a bore if we all agreed!

However, you seem so firmly entrenched in your opinions, that there is no way to discuss this subject reasonably without your calling me a liar, and spreading gossip!

Terri, I too agree with Free Speech, and dissenting opinions.  Interestingly when someone calls into these shows with opposing viewpoints many times they are treated like idiots or cut off.

In fact, I encourage dissenting opinons with my Groups, and when I disagree, I never treat others with disrespect   However, there are ways to discuss the issues without inflaming the public.

There are nutty people out there, as well as hate groups.  It amazes me that you don't recognize that there are some Radio Talk Show Hosts who are pounding in their dislike for the President, and ridiculing Obama day after day might be putting the President's life in danger!

I feel these crazies would try to assassinate the President in a heartbeat if they could, and would then feel they were doing our country a service!     It's a bit scary, and those Radio Hosts, would then feel that they would NOT  bear any responsibility.

While you might be right, for it would be depending upon the case, still it does remain a concern!  Shelby

HI Jersey Girl,

Thank you for contributing your opinion, and I agree completely with your extremely well written post!

Jersey Girl, as you know I'm extremely fearful at what such hate commentary's will bring, while these talk show hosts dismiss our fears, like the problem doesn't exist.

We both know hate mongering, can serve as a catalyst for an unbalanced mind, and as you pointed out so well, it has happened time and again in the past!

Enjoy the rest of the week, and I'll look forward to reading more of your opinions on the issues!   Shelby

Hi, I am new to this site.  I agree with you regarding this hate mongering.  It is not, however a new thing.  It has been part and parcel of our American life for a long time...1st Amendment rights as you well know. What makes it so difficult is that we seem to be barraged with opinions constantly.  The news has turned into a forum for opinions and analysis instead of presenting the news and letting us form our own opinions.  I get so frustrated when in the middle of a speech, they cut off the speaker and interpret what he or she saying.  Just let me listen to the person.  I have seen this happen when the news is covering a speech by President Obama.  They cut him off and some belligerent commentator starts up telling us what he said, didn't say, what the American people want him to say, and what he should say.  I also think that these aggressively negative talk hosts (both radio and TV) want headlines and controversy.  They take our 1st Amendment rights to free speech and make a mockery of it.  I don't have cable or a dish anymore because we have had to cut back on expenses, so I don't get to watch CSpan anymore.  I have had to do a lot of looking around to get accurate information.  There is so much hype out there, It is very difficult to form an unbiased opinion.  And to get to your question, yes, I believe these commentators are responsible for hate crimes committed against undocumented aliens and are putting our President in jeopardy due to their relentless fear mongering, name calling, and anti Obama campaigns that incorporate terms such as natzi, socialist, devil, anti-christ to name a few. Having lived through the murder of JFK, Martin Luther King, and Robert Kennedy, I believe America cannot endure another tragedy.  Responsible journalism seems to be largely a thing of the past.  Regards

Hi Sryan,

I feel too, that most of these talk show hosts are malicious.  Sryan, in your opinion aren't most following the advice and dictates  of those who hire them???   So shouldn't the blame be spread.

Then I sometimes wondering how we can stop them, and still allow for their Freedom of Speech!  I feel the most important ways, are to write letters to their advertisers, and for us to stop patronizing those stations while certain talk show host are on.  This has worked in the past!

Believe me, I don't listen for long anymore.  Sryan, when I hear them saying their usual negative garbage, this is when I turn the station off and listen to music!

I'm really hoping that the Radio Stations are able to gage the times exactly, when their listener-ship falls off while their talk show is on the air.

Never forget the fact that these stations are not only politically motivated, but also money motivated.  I'd be interested in knowing your opinon in this regard!   Shelby

I didn't say they were dumb, I said they were uneducated.

I probably should have said they are insane. And they are losers. There are many rich losers. Not all losers are poor. These guys are morally bankrupt. Emotionally bankrupt. Intellectually bankrupt. And psychotic.

Spend an hour listening to each of them and you can diagnose the psychoses of both without a medical diploma.

Littlemite, I have no master's degree either, but I recognize unprincipled, malicious depravity nevertheless.

Hi Sryan,

Many people who never went to College, or people who had bad grades in high school, can be extremely intelligent.  Perhpas they had a lack of interest in schooling when they were young, or different priorities back then!

It's possible too, that they gained in intelligence through the years, through their experiences in life.  Then too, in order to manipulate the general public does take some degree of intelligence!   (either that or a big mouth)  ;-))

Seriously my Father never went to College, but was brilliant, and extremely well read.  So it really is an individual matter.  Substance abuse, also doesn't mean that the person is not intelligent, it just means they have been hooked on drugs or alcohol, and ADD is a mental disorder.

While I don't care for these talk show hosts, if they were losers, they wouldn't be making the high incomes that they do.  They have a different political agenda, which they try to push down everyone's throats, and make great money doing so!  This in my opinon does not make them dumb.   Shelby

These Radio Talk Show Hosts, aren't uneducated.

Oh yes they are:

RUSH...

Limbaugh graduated from Cape Central High School, in 1969. His father and mother wanted him to attend college, so he enrolled at Southeast Missouri State University. He dropped out after two semesters and one summer; according to his mother, "he flunked everything", even a modern ballroom dancing class. As she told a reporter in 1992, "He just didn't seem interested in anything except radio."

GLENN...

Beck was admitted to a special program for non-traditional students at Yale University while he was working for a New Haven-area radio station, having received at least one of his recommendations from Senator Joe Lieberman. During this time Beck took a single theology class, dropping out around the time of his divorce.

Beck is a self-described recovering alcoholic and drug addict. He also has a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder He and his first wife divorced amid his struggle with substance abuse.

Don't fall for that tripe. These guys are losers. They have been losers all their lives.
