Every animal lover with access to the internet should do a google search for “The future of Dogs” which will lead them to the pet-law.com site (or just go to http://www.pet-law.com/future/future_print.html) where they will find a scholarly dissertation on the future of pet ownership and the very disturbing trends in pet related legislation. It also exposes the radical agenda of HSUS and PETA and explains the real story behind the nice sounding but wrong headed amendment to the Florida constitution that was mistakenly passed a few years back banning the use of farrowing pens which were designed to prevent the sow from rolling on and crushing her piglets. People need to understand that what these organizations say in their fund raising letters doesn’t reflect their true agenda and how they really spend your money. We recently had a local issue concering the zoning for a 20 year old hunting lodge . Unfortunately the national political organizations HSUS and PETA chose to get involved and were spreading complete fabrications about the hunting lodge operations. It is important that pet owners understand the true agenda of these organizations. HSUS (Humane Society of the United States) is a completely separate and very different organization from our local Humane Society. While our local society is a fine organization, active in helping and providing shelter and finding new homes for abandoned pets, my research indicates that HSUS and PETA are radical political organization s that provide no direct support to pets or animal shelters and which actively fight against the individual’s right to pet ownership. HSUS and PETA (People for Ethical Treatment of Animals) trade on their misleading names to raise money from animal lovers to support a political crusade that in reality is not in the best interests of pet owners. They collect millions from animal lovers who erroneously believe that they are helping abandoned pets. Remember this next time you receive a fund raising letter from these groups. |

This is certainly very interesting. Thank you for sharing this.
I did read the www.pet-law.com/future/future of our dogs. I am saving the contents. I want to read what some of the other links say. I did try to click on the website of the last one. What I got was an advertisement??? All the articles on HSUS and PETA are shocking. One of my friends did send me some material when some of those laws were sent to Congress, but I only glanced at it because it seemed tedious. Now I read your note and everything on website seriously. If you here anything else, please keep us on top of things. I have been following this dog forum for a few weeks now, and It is amazing that you brought up these dog situations, just as yesterday heard that there will be many changes in the world. Today, on 60 Minutes, I heard of a situation involving us just like what I had heard from a lady last night. Too much, unbelievable! Florence
For sure it is scary, I have heard things also that are going on with breeding dogs. Sometimes I wonder what to believe?? I guess we will just have to see what happens. Florence
Wow that is scary. I hope that it doesn't catch on anywhere else.
That is scary! I am glad I won't be around then -- I think we all need to stand up and fight for pet ownership NOW and not allow a few to control and make the decisions for us. Dogs have been pets for so long already - the idea of not being able to own one - or to pay an arm and leg to own one is pathetic and very scary to me. Of course, this is ONE article. Surely the politicians who have dogs will fight to maintain our rights to own and breed dogs. It's impossible for me to imagine life without them that's for sure. And I guess if all within this article is true then everyone would know who had money galore by ownership of a 'legal' dog. We need to make sure we are protected - and can own a dog and have that dog be the breed we want to own. What more can I say?
