Day of Service
Once again, AARP staff and volunteers completed a variety of hands-on educational and direct-service projects that benefited the elderly, the disabled, and other vulnerable populations. This fall, our Day of Service 2009 projects will range from repairing and rehabilitating homes of seniors and people with disabilities to sorting clothing, assembling care packages, and packing food baskets. But you don't need to wait for the Day of Service to join! You too can support this year's Day of Service by volunteering at a local organization or by helping an elderly or homebound neighbor with basic chores and errands. For the latest information go to: http://www.aarp.org/makeadifference/volunteer/day_of_service/

Segunda Juventud , AARP’s bilingual magazine is doing a story on volunteering abroad.  If you have a story about volunteering, post it here and you could be interviewed for an upcoming story!

I was trying to bring attention to Janese , and all she does to make her neighbor life easier, and her neighborhood a better safer place for all.  She spends a lot of her time helping so many.  She is a jewel to those who come into contact with her, and she deserves recognition.  Here she is the ownwe of the group Golden Girls among others.
