The AARP National Spelling Bee will take place Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Little America Hotel and Resort in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The fun yet challenging bee is open to anyone age 50 or older, except for previous winners. Hi Spelling Bee group members.

We've gone from 2 to 4 members.  That's 100% growth.  I hope we can do it again.  I want to say a special welcome to our newest two members:

daisydoyle (Daisy) - I love the peace.jpg image you have in your photos.  You like Labs I see.  The website you listed did not come up: http://www.thelabradorconnection.org/  Also, I noticed that www,cilra.org has a comma after the www instead the requisite period.  I will have to check out the two word games you have in your profile.  I see there is a new Sudoku group.  I do at least one a day.

LaVErne321 (Laverne) - I like your quote " Puzzler's pencils die young." You are a Navy vet and former Wave. Anchors Aweigh!  Do you contend that musicians make better scrabble players?  What instrument(s) do you play?  I'm in a local community choral group.

I'm Wordwizard (Brian) for the AARP Magazine National Spelling Bee.  When was the last time you both were in a spelling bee?  Have you registered for this one. 

If you want another "friend" please don't hesitate to "invite" me.  I could use all the friends I can get in the AARP forums  :-)

Yes, it takes me months to get bak to some messages.

And, yes, musicians do everything better, and in good time!

i play flute in a community  band, and it is great fun. We have a 96 year old French horn player, but, he does want someone younger to come join his section, since he is the only french horn  there!

 

Now, what is this spelling bee contest all about.??

Is there a free lunch in it?   (l-u-n-c-h)
