The Holden Arnoretum is the largest arboretum in the USA. It is located in northeastern Ohio in Kirtland northeast of Cleveland. It is also in the "Lake Erie snowbelt" and is about five miles inland from Lake Erie. I have been going there photographing the place since the early 1970s. It is one of my favorite places to visit and I never grow tired of the place. It is strewn with many hiking and walking trails ranging from easy to rugged. It is especially beautiful in fall with the bright colors. I posted some photographs a while ago of it in May. Well here are some photographs of it in October. You can get more information on the Holden Arboretum on their web site: www.holdenarb.org .

My favorite is the fifth one down. Lovely! I didn't make it to any of the local botanical gardens or arboretums this fall, but I did take a nice walk along a particularly colorful trail near home. I was so glad I brought my camera! I only got a few shots (which I need to upload here), but at least I have representation of Autumn '09! Fall is my favorite season by far.
Beautiful Fall colors, nice reflections in the water. Your pictures are very crisp. Thank you for posting.
