Inspiration is a funny, fickle thing (for me, at least). Where do you draw inspiration? More importantly, where do you find yourself when you say, "Darn, I wish I had my camera!" The last time I said that, I was in a restaurant bathroom in Philadelphia of all places! Hear me out on this one. European-style tiles, vintage artwork, and peculiar lighting compelled me to run back to my table and grab my camera bag. I then dashed back to the bathroom, to the befuddlement of my dining buddies. The picture didn't come out so hot--see below--but I had to answer when Inspiration called.
Where have you found yourself saying, "Darn, I wish I had my camera!" Did you ever return to take some shots?

Perfect examples of these moments! I like to call them fabulous realities. I love it when my "eye" catches me by surprise - no matter how inconvenient the time. Inspiration is always welcome.
Hi Amy,
Yes, that happens to me all the time. It happened to me a couple of days ago when we had the first rain of the season. I was driving my son to school and noticed the reflection of the car tail lights on the wet asphalt. They just resurfaced the streets in my neighborhood and I'm thinking the totally black, smooth surface is reflecting much more then usual or at least I never had noticed it before. There was also another instance last week. I was at an off-site meeting at the Bay Club and when we were done with the meeting we sat outside and had some drinks with our client. The day was beautiful and with that came a perfect sunset with all the docked boats in the foreground. I was so upset because I didn't have my camera with me, and then a thought came to me, my iPhone!!! I know it's not my Rebel but it sure satisfied the itch. I now use it as the wallpaper for my phone.
Thanks,
Marcie
oh NO! I feel your pain - but your heart was in the right place. Any chance you could go back sometime in the future? I also saw a hydroponics farm for the first time last week (Epcot, of all places) and was fascinated by the different plants and veggies that were being grown in such unusual ways. And of course... I left my camera at home. It was around 95 degrees that day and decide to travel light. (*ugh*)
This weekend I visited a hydrophonics farm. I looked for my camera before leaving home, and could not find it! I was so exasperated! I missed some lovely photo moments of the pumpkins and children. When I got home I spent probably 30 minutes looking everywhere in the house, then I went out to the car, looked on the floor of the passenger side, saw a familiar little rope handle poking its head out from under the seat....yes!...there it was - it had traveled with me to the farm, but never said a word!! A lost inspiration :(
Ha! I applaud you for having your camera within arm's reach. :-)
Only this morning I had to follow a gentleman in his car for several blocks out of my way in order to get a picture I knew I wouldn't get again. I needed the have the time to reach into the back seat, grab my camera bag and take a photo of the rear of his car. Why? The license plate read: MOHEL 1.
To me it was a hoot. I never realized that one would advertise as a Bris officiant. But you do want the best for your sons.
Bragging rights?
Maybe not sure if the dog would cooperate....
Oh, that's priceless! (And heroic, I have to admit.) Any chance he'd re-enact it for you? :-)
