I am getting tired of the usual message boards. Any ladies that love to fish? I lost my fishing and hunting buddy in August and after rummaging through the Den, I am getting the fishing bug. It is winter weather here, but if i remember right, the fish are still biting. There is a lake within 24 miles of here and it always was good this time of year. I just have to wait until the roads open and the snow melts so I can make a trip along with some night crawlers, power bait and maybe a fly or too. Flies are not good right now, but I have been known to pull off a few, by accident. Spinners, casting from shore have produced some nice Trout. By the way I am 40, twice and still counting.
What do you say? |

That grill must be getting pretty cold if you haven't bagged anything to eat yet. What kind of coffee shop are you talking about? I remember the one near our cabin in the mountains, it had one of those huge wood burning stoves in it, the size of a semi. The stools were made of logs (poles) with a slice of the tree for seats and were well worn to shape your derriere. The coffee was horrible but the company was awesome. It closed down when the lumber mill closed and it was missed terribly.
Good luck hunting, hope you get something, otherwise enjoy the wonderful outdoors. My DH and I always said it was the "stock" and the 40 mile hike that made a hunting trip, even if we didn't get anything.

Hey Fisherwoman, how's fishing? Or can you go this time of year where you are? I'm wishing every day that I will be able to go for a quick trip. There are plenty of places to go, just have to depend on the freeky weather. It's suposed to snow tomorrow evening??
Did you get to go hunting? Did you bag anything? Let us know something about your wonderful trips. I miss getting out and just reading about other's fun, makes me happy.
Last year we gave our fishing hut, power auger and poles to our son and his wife. Neither of us could handle it anymore. Our son and his wife never went ice fishing before and when they did go twice, they are now "hooked". My son says his wife can scream louder than me (when she gets a bite) . LOL If they can find time out of their busy lives they plan on going again and want me to go with them. I will have to think about it. I kept my warm clothes so I guess there's no excuse. I did love it when we went. SO exciting.
That's the best one yet.
Fishing is possible any time of the year, I do believe. Unfortunately, where I grew up in Colorado fishing season ended the middle of October. Since that time however, after traveling a bit, I found that it's possible to cut a hole in the ice, drop in your baited hook and catch a few fish
