Hi, I took a look at the Shared Tree site, http://www.sharedtree.com/, and it does look like a nice site to use and free at that.  I would think if you register/sign up on their site (and I'm assuming you will also need to create a profile) that once you sign up you could send an e-mail directly with your query to them?  Or, better yet, you could locate the phone number to the Shared Tree and ring up to inquire?  They must have an 800-toll free phone number.   I have nothing against Mormons, so for me, if they are baptizing the deceased based upon names they obtained from their site, well, I don't know what to say really...since most deceased relatives are long ago buried by their living loved ones, moved on (depending upon one's beliefs) and long gone.  As far as fear of identity theft, I would use caution with setting up a profile online.  Most sites allow you not to include personal information about yourself if you choose not to.

If your relatives are offended by the site because of your family's own personal beliefs, then I would proceed with caution since you don't want to create any conflict with your family members.  There are other sites out there to utilize.
