I do not agree or support this war, but as an american I support out troups and pray for them.  I know that when they signed up they knew they might just have to go into harms way. Some do it out of patriotism, some do it because they think it's the only way for them, but each and everyone is putting their life on the line and for me and you and many would do it all over again if need be without hesitation,  So I sy hurrah for our troups and I try to thank a soldier individually when I seem him or her for their sacrifice.  I may not agree with our political leader, but I will not say anything agains out troups.

Sharon, have come back to this topic today....Since the president is dragging his feet regarding putting sufficient troops in place to get this war finished. My thought....Get in there, use whatever means we have to to win this war or bring our people home, NOW.

I have a nephew who was in Viet Nam and I see what is has done to him and I pray that our troups come home whole, but who can after what they say and did.  What protesters don't seem to understand is our soldiers are doing  what they are told to do and and have no other choice.  So yes picket the politicians but leave out boys out of it and treat them with the respect they deserve

I always believed it was greedy politicians who went to war and if we  made it mandatory and could put them in a room or on a desert island somewhere and told them before it ends someone would have to die first, then we would have any wars.  But it's the innocent that have to do the dirty work for them while all then need todo is talk in some plusy office somewhere.

Your right this is going to be another Vet Nam what they should do is everyone puts down on paper what they want out of the war and then stick the leaders in a room and the last one standing gets his prise. I bet that will cut down on both taxes and loseing our brave solders.

Sharon,

You are so right. We need to support and thank  those in uniform and show our respect and admiration for the sacrifice they are making. I hope this country will never, never again treat our military members the way they were treated during and after Viet Nam. They were drafted, they were sent and they obeyed.

During the Viet Nam conflict I was held responsible at a local university of qualifying those who were being exempt from the draft due to their college attendance.  When our military began returning and returned to school they moved through the registration lines very docile and withdrawn. My heart wept for them and still does. Out of the many, many I helped register I remember only one who was arrogant and obnoxious. The rest were very patient and very polite.

Recently a very wonderful man in our church died, a Viet Nam casualty. Agent Orange.

   Sharon, thanks for the reminder.
